The well-known Varsovian sculptress, Katarzyna Bułka-Matłacz,
born in 1965 in Warsaw, runs an original studio of unique sculpture,
as well as designs utilitarian and commercial forms.
Her artistic career was preceded by artistic studies at the
Sculpture Faculty of Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw,
where she was taught by distinguished professors:

In 1991 she took a master's degree in fine arts.
In 1999 she was granted a stipend by the Culture and Arts Department.
She has participated in many exhibitions of artistic sculpture.
Her works can be found in private collections both at home and abroad.
They are largely acknowledged by very exacting connoisseurs of art..
Some of her works are owned by very important personages, such as:
Kostas Simitis, the Prime Minister of Greece
(who bought one of the sculptures in person at "Zapiecek" Gallery
during his official visit to Poland in 1993),
Prof. Leszek Balcerowicz, the president of Polish National Bank,
Cezary Stypułkowski, the president of PKO BP Bank,
Jean Jacques Sioen, the president of SIOEN,
a Belgian textile conglomerate,

The works also attract large companies' interest

| | The sculptures by Katarzyna Bułka-Matłacz amazingly
combine the elements of surrealism, grotesque and fairy tale,
which are used to show the complexity of human condition,
man's ambitions and limitations, his advantages and drawbacks.
The artist uses extremely adequate thought abbreviations to enclose
a complete tale carrying a deep philosophical and
humanistic message in a limited space.
The sculptress uses the lost wax
casting, a technique known since ancient times.
This method of making artistic moulds requires the sculptor's
huge artistry and patience.
Each of the artist's sculptures is a unique and inimitable creation.
The works reflect her unusual precision and respect for the recipients.
The extraordinary relationship she is able to
establish with the audience results in the excellent acceptance and
recognition of her works of art., in Poland and all over the world.
